Construction works on the Chipata-Vubwi road have not resumed.
Vubwi District Commissioner, Enelesi Banda has told Breeze News that the contractor hired to carry out the road works is still waiting for funding.
Ms. Banda however, says that the contractor is now working on stretches of the road that were damaged by rains while waiting for government to release the money.
And Ms. Banda says that government is impressed with construction works on the medium and small cost houses in Vubwi district.
She says that from the time government re-engaged a contractor, whose contract had been terminated, works have started moving quickly.
