Contractor working on Chipata District Hospital construction works behind Schedule

The Ministry of Health is disappointed with the pace at which the construction of Chipata District Hospital is moving.
Eastern Province Medical Officer, Abel Kabalo says that this is despite the contractor, being paid more than 50 per cent of the 10.8 million Kwacha contract sum.
Dr Kabalo has urged the contractor to speed up works on the construction of the Chipata District Hospital.
He however, expressed happiness over the construction of the Nyimba and Lundazi district hospitals.
He stated in an interview with Breeze News that although the contractors moved on site later than the one working on Chipata district hospital, their works were encouraging.
Dr. Kabalo says that the contractor in Nyimba is in the final stage of completing the works and will hand over the project by December 2015.
Meanwhile, works for Vubwi District Hospital have started after being delayed due to farming activities that were being carried out by residents on the construction site.
