Government is expected to clear all the outstanding arrears owed to various contractors starting next week.
Transport, Works, Supply and Communications Deputy Minister Mutaba Mwali has confirmed.
Dr. Mwali says that the Ministry of Finance will begin releasing the money to various contractors by next week.
He says that even President Edgar Lungu is optimistic that various contractors will be paid starting next week.
Dr. Mwali says that he is hopeful that the contractors will resume works under the Link Zambia 8000 Road project once they have been paid.
He commended the contractors and consultants across the country for being patient towards their payments for the road projects.
