Government has warned contractors, who will be engaged to construct a One Stop Border Post at Mwami Border to attach seriousness to the project.
Transport, Works, Supply and Communication Minister Yamfwa Mukanga said this when he officiated at a three day Nacala Corridor Development project meeting in Chipata.
Mr. Mukanga says the government is expecting that contractors once identified are expected to mobilise and commence the works.
He says the buildings department will be expected to closely monitor the works so that the requisite specifications are adhered to.
The minister says Zambia has prioritised infrastructure development and the construction of a One Stop Border Post will be another shining example.
And Mr. Mukanga extended an invitation to his Malawian counterpart for Industry and Trade, Joseph Mwanamvekha to attend this year’s meeting on landlocked least developed countries to take place in Zambia.
Mr Mwanamvekha says according to the 2015 World Bank Report, Malawi is ranked 162 out of 187 countries in terms of ease of doing business.
