Councillor for Makangila Ward, Daniel Mwanza accused of mismanaging CDF

Councillor for Makangila Ward, Daniel Mwanza, in Chipata is being implicated in an alleged mishandling of money for projects under CDF, Constituency Development Fund.
The councillor has further been accused of picking projects to be undertaken alone without consulting the ADC, Area Development Committee in Mtizwa Zone.
This is contained in a letter addressed to the office of the town clerk at Chipata Municipal Council by Mtizwa Zone ADC Chairperson, Hassan Njobvu availed to Breeze News.
Mr. Njobvu alleges that 17,000 Kwacha allocated for construction of a shelter at Nkunzi village was not properly used as the project was uncompleted while 38 bags of cement were sold.
He further alleges that other building materials like iron sheets are missing from the same site while a 20,000 Kwacha project to put up culverts on a road in Patwayo village was not properly executed.
And speaking to Breeze News Mr. Njobvu echoed the same allegations and called for investigations into the matter, stating that there were other projects, whose works are questionable.
But when contacted for comment, Mr. Mwanza, who said that he was aware of the allegations made by Mr. Njbovu denied any wrongdoing.
Mr. Mwanza stated that the ADC was trying to politicise the matter because they were interested in handling funds for developmental projects in Mtizwa Zone.
He explained that he had called for a meeting with council officials to ensure that they sort out the baseless allegations.
