Councilors in Chipangali promise to reduce water problem within three months

Councillors in Chipangali Constituency in Chipata have promised the people in their respective wards that the water problems they are facing will be reduced in the next three months.

The councillors made this promise to their people yesterday during the Breeze Open Day which was held at Chief Chanje’s palace.

Breeze FM provided an opportunity for people of Chipangali constituency to question and present their problems to their councillors through a debate.

Musandile ward councillor and Deputy Mayor Grace Phiri, Chipangali ward Councillor Kennedy Shumba, Nthope ward councillor Tekson Tembo and Kasenga ward Councillor Noar Banda were the civic leaders that featured on the debate.

Meanwhile Chipangali ward councillor Kennedy Shumba said his ward is facing water problems adding that government through the ministry of waters affairs is working hand in hand with the people in the area in constructing Dams and ponds to help alleviate the problem.

When asked after the event, Mr. Shumba told Breeze news that boreholes will also be constructed in chipangali ward to give people access to clean water.

Mr Shumba added that government has put in place good measure for agriculture as drilling of Boreholes and construction of Dams would help in irrigation.
