CSPR queries Zesco over high electricity tariffs

Civil Society for Poverty Reduction has queried ZESCO for not adhering to a presidential directive not to effect new electricity tariffs.
Participation and Advocacy Programme Officer Maxson Nkhoma says that for the president to issue a directive, it means that every necessary aspect has been put in place.
He says his organisation is equally surprised to note that ZESCO is still charging unsuspecting customers new electricity tariffs.
Mr Nkhoma told Breeze News in Chipata today that one week has passed from the time the directive was pronounced by the president and ZESCO has not changed to old tariffs.
He says in as far as his organisation is concerned no one surpasses presidential directive.
Mr Nkhoma has therefore appealed to President Edgar Lungu to ensure that his directives are followed at all time.
