Delay in the commencement of the project of township road construction in Nyimba district has raised concern among councillors.
Nyimba District Council Chairperson, Max Kapanta, wondered why the Ministry of Local Government and Housing is delaying to commence township roads construction in Nyimba, when similar projects in other districts are underway.
He explained that people in the district are disappointed because they expected the works to start at the same time with projects in Petauke and Katete, where the works have now advanced.
Mr. Kapanta says that the rain season is almost over, but there is still no sign that the road project will start anytime soon.
He appealed to government to quicken the process of finding a contractor, so that works can start as quickly as possible.
