District Commissioners in Eastern Province given vehicles

Government has handed over nine vehicles to District Commissioners in Eastern Province.
Permanent Secretary, Chanda Kasolo handed over the Toyota Hilux vehicles to the district commissioners at his office this morning.
Mr. Kasolo thanked President Edgar Lungu for the vehicles saying the DC’s where unable to conduct some activities because their old Land Rovers are outdated.
Mr. Kasolo says the old Land Rovers where using huge sums of money for maintenance due to the poor conditions.
He urged the DC’s to be using the vehicles for governmental developmental programmes, which include monitoring the on-going Mobile National Registration exercise.
And speaking when giving a vote of thanks, Chadiza District Commissioner, George Phiri thanked government for attending to their transport challenges.
Mr. Phiri says the DC’s will introduce a log book where they will be indicating how they are using the vehicles.
