The Patriotic Front PF Party in Eastern Province has expressed concern that some of its members seem to have more loyalty to individual candidates than the party.
Provincial Information and Publicity Secretary, Bright Chihana, says that some members are still concerned about candidates that were not picked, instead of supporting those the party picked to contest on various positions.
Mr. Chihana was reacting to confusion were some people, who were allegedly behind Charles Besai for the Chipata Central parliamentary seat, complained of being harassed by those supporting adopted candidate, Moses Mawere.
Mr. Chihana, who acknowledged the challenge, called for unity among all members to support adopted candidates.
Mr. Chihana explained that the party will educate the members on the importance of accepting candidates that have been adopted.
Some members, who recently joined PF in Magazine and Kapata, have complained that some old PF members are accusing them of joining the party to take over some positions.
They also complained of being threatened by the old members, accusing them of working against, Moses Mawere, because they wanted Besai to stand.
