Dora Siliya has brightened her chances of contesting the Petauke Central parliamentary by-election on Patriotic Front ticket.

Dora Siliya has now become a leading aspirant for those that are seeking to stand on the PF, Patriotic Front Party ticket in the Petauke Central Parliamentary by-election.
The former Member of Parliament yesterday polled 13 votes to beat her only contender, Charles Nyanoka who got 10 votes in the PF district elections.
However, two leading aspirants at the PF Petauke Central constituency election held on Tuesday, Elias Daka and William Banda pulled out from the race without giving reasons.
Ms. Siliya and Mr. Nyanoka will now have to wait for a final decision from the PF Provincial and national leaderships on who will be the candidate for the ruling party.
Meanwhile MMD Mambwe District Chairperson, Zephaniah Kaleya has declared his intention to contest the Malambo parliamentary by-election on MMD ticket.
Mr. Kaleya told Breeze News yesterday that he has already communicated to the national leadership about his decision to contest the parliamentary seat.
He says that the MMD does not yet have a candidate since some members had protested against the party’s decision to pick Anne Yeta.
