The opposition UPND, United Party for National Development in Eastern Province says it can only accept defeat in the just ended general election after the court hearing tomorrow.
Speaking to Breeze News, UPND Provincial Chairperson, Paul Thole says the results were highly contentious because some of the figures that were read out by ECZ, Electoral Commission of Zambia Chairperson, Justice Esau Chulu did not tally with the ones people had at the polling stations.
Mr. Thole gave an example of figures in Lundazi and Lusaka districts, which he says were contentious.
He says this is why the party is waiting for the outcome of the court ruling tomorrow for them to give their position if they will accept defeat and their way forward.
Meanwhile, there was jubilation among PF, Patriotic Front party members in Chipata after President Edgar Lungu was announced winner of the August 11th general election.
The PF members moved on Umodzi highway to church road chanting slogans, hooting and whistling.
And Police officers provided security at the office of Chipata based businessman and UPND member, Johabie M’tonga where the supporters headed to.
