Eastern Fodya Association of Zambia EFAZ has embarked on an exercise to establish the volume of tobacco from farmers who obtained loans from TBZ, Tobacco Board of Zambia.
EFAZ Provincial Chairperson, Franklin Mwale has confirmed the development to Breeze News.
He says that the exercise, which is meant to assist the farmers in selling their produce, has been extended to independent farmers.
Mr. Mwale has appealed to the farmers to be honest in declaring the quantity of tobacco, which they have, as this is the only way to assist them.
He has warned that EFAZ will not facilitate the sale of tobacco for farmers, who will not register their quantities.
The EFAZ Provincial Chairperson has also appealed to farmers, who obtained loans from TBZ through EFAZ to ensure that they pay back.
The exercise of establishing the volume of tobacco, which has not yet been bought, is expected to be completed by Saturday this week.
