Eastern Water still owed 3.4 million Kwacha by government departments.

Government still owes Eastern Water and Sewerage Company about 3.4 million Kwacha in unsettled bills.
Eastern Water and Sewerage Company Public Relations Officer, Henry Kashoki revealed this to Breeze News.
Mr. Kashoki however, says that some government departments like the Police and Zambia Army have made significant improvements in settling the bills.
He says that the utility company will be submitting a list of government departments that still owe huge sums, to the Provincial Administration this week.
Mr. Kashoki explained that the money is needed to put in place measures to mitigate the water crisis.
He explained that starting yesterday, Lundazi district started receiving intermittent water supply, as the levels of water in the dam have drastically reduced, whilst 2 from the 16 boreholes in Katete district have dried up.
Mr. Kashoki says that this has prompted the supply to further drop from six to four hours in a day.
He however, says that government has promised to provide a water bauzer to help the company supply water to affected areas in Chipata district, such as Chimwemwe Compound.
