Erratic water supply in Chipata district to worsen

Eastern Water and Sewerage Company customers should brace themselves for further reduced hours of water supply.
Manager Director Lighton Kanowa has confirmed, stating that this is due to massive power loading that has hit the country.
Mr. Kanowa says that districts like Katete are already affected as supply time has been reduced from 8 to 4 hours.
He also says that the water supply situation in Katete district will only improve after the construction of a dam in that district is completed.
And Mr. Kanowa accused Mota Engil of draining water from Lutembwe Dam which is a source of water supply in the district.
He says that the matter was handed over to the Department of Water Affairs to talk to the construction company, which is using the water to carry out works on the Great East Road.
