Finance Bank Zambia registers impressive 100 per cent deposit base increment.

Finance Bank Zambia’s deposit base has increased by 100 per cent within a period of about two years and six months.
Finance Bank Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Barkat Ali says the deposit base performance has grown from 1 billion as at October 2011 to 2 billion Kwacha as of 31st March this year.
He said this yesterday when the bank held a luncheon for its Chipata and Katete clientele.
Mr. Ali further indicated that the bank has continued to record an increase in the number of customer accounts from 112,000 in 2011 to over 152,000 as at March 31st this year.
He assured government that the bank is committed to investing more in the country by opening seven more outlets, which would bring its total footprint to 62.
Mr. Ali indicated that Eastern Province would see a refurbishment of the banks in Chipata and Katete districts while new branches would be opened in Petauke, Sinda and Lundazi districts.
And speaking during the same occasion, Provincial Minister, Malozo Sichone commended the bank for having survived political interference under the previous administration.
Mr. Sichone further stated that the desire for economic development can only be achieved if there is strong financial capability.
He challenged the business community to support the bank and develop their businesses so that Eastern Province can assist to contribute to the national treasury.
