Five PF youths appear in court charged with conduct likely to cause the breach of peace

Five Katete District Patriotic Front PF Youths have pleaded not guilty to two counts of conduct likely to cause the breach of peace.
Elasto Mwanza 34 a taxi Driver, Luka Ndlovu 33 a businessman, Joeffa Lungu 34 a businessman, Titus Banda 27 a businessman and Jackson Mwale 23 a taxi driver all of Katete District yesterday appeared before Katete Magistrate Mary Musongole.
This is after they were arrested and charged by police for locking Katete District Council Secretary and District Education Board Secretary’s offices.
The five stood charged with two offences of conduct likely to cause breach of peace contrary to the laws of Zambia.
Particulars of the offence in both counts are that Elasto Mwanza, Luka Ndlovu, Joeffa Lungu, Titus Banda and Jackson Mwale jointly and whilst acting together conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause the breach of peace by closing the two offices.
The five accused persons however, appealed for bail before court.
And Magistrate Musongole has granted the five accused persons 20,000 Kwacha cash bail to all the five coupled with two working sureties.
Trial in the matter has been set for February 20th, 2016 while all the five accused persons are remanded in custody until they meet all bail conditions.
