Foreigners involved in illegal harvesting and trade of Mukula tree risk being deported.

Government has warned that foreigners involved in illegal harvesting and trade of Mukula tree will be deported from Zambia.

Eastern Province Permanent Secretary, Chileshe Mulenga has further warned that the foreigners will be declared prohibited immigrates.

In a statement availed to Breeze News last evening, Dr. Mulenga has also warned Zambians that any person found harvesting, in possession of, transporting or trading in Mukula trees will be dealt with severely.

He further states that equipment, buildings and motor vehicles used in the illegal harvesting of the trees will be forfeited to the state.

Dr. Mulenga has called on people especially those in Mambwe’s Msoro area, Chipata and Lundazi districts to help protect the nation’s precious forest resources by reporting to government.

He says that the government is committed to protecting the Nation’s Forest in accordance with the laws and in the interest of the present and future generations.
