Former Patriotic Front, PF members, who resigned from the party and want to rejoin, may have to wait a little longer, depending on when they resigned.
This is because the Central Committee of PF says the party will follow article 74 sub-article 16 of the party, which states that “A person, who resigns from the Party shall not apply for re-admission within three years from the date of resignation.
A statement distributed by PF secretary general, Davies Mwila says that all former members that desire to rejoin PF are expected to comply with this constitutional provision.
This was one of resolutions made at a meeting held yesterday, chaired by party and republican president, Edgar Lungu.
The statement by Mr. Mwila also says the PF has endorsed the candidature of Kitwe Mayor, Councilor Christopher Pikiti Kangombe, for the position of President of LGA, the Local Government Association.
It says the party expects all PF councilors to vote for Councilor Kangombe and thereafter, offer him necessary support to succeed in his work, bearing in mind that his success would be the success of the PF as a whole.
