Former Republican president Rupiah Banda has urged participating political party leaders in the August 11 general elections to concede defeat once they lose the elections.
Mr. Banda says that in any election, there is only one winner adding that those who are going to lose the elections must be ready to concede defeat.
He says that he is an example of a leader who conceded defeat in the September 20, 2011 tripartite elections.
Mr. Banda says that when he lost elections, he conceded defeat and is able to walk with his head high.
He says that those who were stating that they would not accept defeat were not supposed to participate in the elections.
And the former head of state says that people should feel free to express themselves in the ballot on voting day.
