Former President, Rupiah Banda’s son Andrew has rubbished Deputy Minister of Works, Supply and Communication, Panji Kaunda’s immunity attacks on his father.
Mr. Banda also says that he is disappointed that Colonel Kaunda chose to talk about Rupiah Banda’s immunity when he featured on Political Hour Programme on Breeze FM, instead of addressing what he has described as real issues.
Mr. Banda also says that Colonel Kaunda has no right to speak on behalf of Easterners because he settled at Sindamisale Farm in Chadiza as a bankrupt person, who failed to run his businesses in Lusaka.
He says that he expected Colonel Kaunda to address issues of hunger and agriculture, which the PF government has failed to manage.
Mr. Banda told Breeze News that during the tenure of his father, maize national production increased to 3.6 million metric tonnes but dropped to 2.7 million metric tonnes last year.
He says that this figure is likely to drop further this year because most farmers in Eastern Province have not performed well due to poor input distribution.
Mr. Banda further charged that Colonel Kaunda does not seem to understand the PF manifesto.
Mr. Banda says that Colonel Kaunda should stop masquerading as an easterner to satisfy his agenda of becoming PF president, which he says is impossible.
