Forty nurses who participated in the countrywide illegal strike in Chipata have been given dismissal letters.
This has been confirmed to Breeze News by Eastern Province Medical Officer, Dr Kennedy Malama.
Dr. Malama says that among the 40 nurses, 24 are from Chipata General Hospital while 16 are from Kapata clinic.
And Dr. Malama says that the dismissal of the 40 nurses has affected operations at the two health institutions but government is doing something to address the situation.
More than 250 nurses cross the country are believed to have lost their jobs following the illegal strike.
