Four candidates file in their nomination papers for Nthithimila Ward by election in Lundazi district.

Four candidates have successfully filed in their nomination papers ahead of the September 24, Nthithimila Ward by election in Lundazi district.
Nthithimila Ward Returning Officer, Edwin Phiri confirmed the development to Breeze News.
Mr. Phiri named the four candidates as Mackson Bili for ruling PF, Patriotic Front Party, Genous Jere of FDD, the Forum for Democracy and Development and Blackson Nkhoma for UNIP, the United National Independence Party.
The other candidate is Patson Sambo for UPND, the United Party for National Development.
He also disclosed that the former ruling MMD, Movement for Multi-Party Democracy did not turn up during the filing in of nomination papers despite being allocated time.
Mr. Phiri also revealed that the by election has been necessitated after the area councillor, Mackson Bili of the MMD resigned from the party to join PF.
And efforts to get a comment from Lundazi District MMD Chairman, Godfrey Mapili on why their candidate failed to file in, proved futile by News time.
