Four hundred and eighty dogs have been registered in the on-going dog registration exercise in Chipata District.
Chipata District Commissioner, Kalunga Zulu explained that 430 dogs have so far been vaccinated against rabies and that 25 stray dogs have been put down.
Mr Zulu stated that the exercise is important because it will prevent dog bites, which causes rabies, from occurring.
He expressed disappointment that some dog owners have not registered their dogs up to now
The dog registration exercise was launched in May.
