Four teacher unions in Eastern Province reject government offered pay rise.

Teacher unions in Eastern Province have rejected the minmal salary increment offered by government.
This is according to a press statement signed by BETUZ Provincial Secretary Simon Bota availed to Breeze News.
BETUZ, ZNUT, PROTUZ and SESTUZ held a meeting yesterday in Chipata at which they agreed to reject the offered pay rise.
They have indicated that the graded system salary increment translate to about 150 Kwacha for certificate holders, 216 Kwacha for diploma holders and 500 Kwacha for degree holders.
The unions have further asked their national leaders and negotiating team to stick to the union’s demands.
