The Food Reserve Agency FRA has purchased about 36 thousand bags of maize out of a total target of 72 thousand in Vubwi district.
Vubwi District Commissioner, Enelesi Banda also told Breeze News that her office has not received any complaints from farmers on the maize marketing.
Mrs. Banda says that the district has enough empty grain bags and enough man power working in the satellite depots across the district.
She explained that farmers are being paid every after two weeks after selling their maize to FRA.
Mrs. Banda says the district has four maize depots and farmers are not spending a lot of time at the depots as they are attended to on time.
