Police in Ndola have exhumed a headless body of Ruth Phiri aged 17 from a shallow grave.
Police Spokesperson, Charity Chanda says in a statement availed to Breeze News that this is after police were led to the scene by a 17 year old suspect George Mpombo Junior.
Mpombo is alleged to have shot at Ruth on the forehead on 11th January 2016 after informing him that she was pregnant.
He later chopped off the head and buried it near Mulungushi bus stop while the rest of the body was buried in a shallow grave near Chiwala Secondary School.
Ms Chanda says Mpombo has been jointly charged with three other suspects identified as Kennedy Mumba 21, Brian Kapinga 26 while the third one is a 16 year old juvenile.
She says the police also managed to retrieve the pistol that is alleged to have been used in commissioning the crime.
The ownership of the pistol is yet to be established.
Meanwhile Inspector General of Police Kakoma Kanganja has commended fuel tucker truck drivers for calling of their strike.
In a statement availed to Breeze News, Mr. Kanganja has however, advised the drivers to always use their Union representatives each time they would want to air their grievances to avoid creating volatile situations which may affect the economy.
He says that the Zambia Police we will always protect all those who adhere to the provisions of the law in airing their grievances.
