Government has been asked to rehabilitate roads in Chief Chikuwe’s area of Chipata district.
Chief Chikuwe’s Induna, Headman Londolani, says that most roads in the area are in a bad state, such that farmers are facing serious challenges to transport their crops to markets.
Headman Londolani mentioned Chiwayu-Mbenjele, Sisinje-Mbejele and Mphomwa, as some of the major roads that need to be worked on.
He explained that the area has remained behind in many other developmental projects due to having poor road network for a long time.
Headman Londolani noted that currently, big trucks are unable to reach the area because the roads are bad and have no proper bridges.
