The visually impaired in Chipata have asked government to explain why they their projects are neglected.
Speaking to Breeze News, the visually impaired charged that they could not understand why their projects are failing while those for able bodied people are succeeding.
Robert Phiri says that while the hammer mill project in Walela has stalled for almost six years, shelters for traders are being constructed in markets using government resources.
Mr. Phiri says that this is a clear indication that disabled people are being ignored.
But when contacted, Eastern Province Permanent Secretary, Chanda Kasolo disagreed with the sentiments saying some projects of market shelters were funded by President Edgar Lungu.
Mr. Kasolo advised the visually impaired to apply for a solar powered hammer mill, which can be easily given to them unlike the one using electricity, which is proving to be expensive.
