Government denies compulsory HIV testing system for every one seeking medical attention.

The Ministry of Health has denied introducing an HIV compulsory testing system for everyone who goes for medical attention at health facilities.
Provincial Medical Officer, Abel Kabalo has told Breeze News that the HIV testing exercise known as Provider Initiated Testing is optional.
Dr. Kabalo explained that people who seek medical attention at health facilities can refuse to be tested if they do not want to be tested.
And Dr. Kabalo says that the response for Provide Initiated Testing has been positive in the province because people understand that being HIV positive does not mean a death sentence.
Meanwhile Dr. Kabalo says that he has not received any report over alleged shortage of blankets for patients being admitted at some health facilities.
Dr. Kabalo explained that the Ministry of Health in the fourth quarter of last year procured blankets, which were distributed to all districts in the country.
Breeze FM received complaints from some patients, who were admitted at Kapata Referral Clinic that they had been asked to bring their own blankets.
