Government departments in Lundazi in K400,000 debt over water bills

Government departments in Lundazi district owe Eastern water and sewerage company about 400,000 Kwacha in unsettled water bills.
Eastern Water and Sewerage Company Commercial Manager Nthangali Katyetye revealed this during a stakeholders meeting by the company yesterday.
Mr. Katyetye further disclosed that the Zambia Police and Prisons Department owed a large chunk from the amount.
He however, stated that government has already started settling the bill by making part payments and expressed confidence that the whole amount was likely to be settled soon.
And Mr. Katyetye disclosed that domestic consumers in the district owed the water utility company 338,000 Kwacha.
He stated that the company was facing serious challenges to recover the debt and was now contemplating engaging bailiffs.
