Government has released about 47 million Kwacha to grade feeder roads in Chipata District.
Chipata District Commissioner, Kalunga Zulu confirmed this to Breeze News.
Mr Zulu says that the amount will cater for 106.4 kilometres of roads in 8 wards of the district.
The District Commissioner further added that 9 local contractors have been awarded with tenders for periodic maintenance works of the feeder roads.
Mr Zulu says that government is keen on delivering on the promises made.
He advised the contractors to ensure that they carry out a good job on the roads to avoid having their contracts terminated.
Mr Zulu expressed confidence that the roads will be completed before the onset of the rainy season.
