Government issues another warning to millers to stop exploiting people.

Companies flouting government policies have been warned of stiffer punishment.
Eastern Province Permanent Secretary Chanda Kasolo told Breeze News that the companies risk having their licenses revoked.
Mr. Kasolo says that there are some millers that are buying maize from FRA at a subsidized price but are selling the commodity at high prices.
He says that there is no reason why these millers are selling mealie meal at a high price instead of selling at an agreed price with government.
Mr Kasolo explained that government’s intention is to have people buy mealie meal at uniform price, whether in Lusaka or Lundazi.
Mr. Kasolo says that it does not make sense for people to buy mealie meal at a high price when government is subsidizing the buying price for maize.
