Government makes part payment for road works in Chipata

Government has released 30 percent of the 8 million Kwacha it is owing Sable Transport and Construction Company for the Road works in Chipata district.

Sable Construction Company Contract Manager, Musenge Musenge confirmed this to Breeze News.

Mr. Musenge says the company is expected to resume the road works tomorrow starting with the 4 kilometre works on Kalindawalo road which is expected to be completed in August this year.

Mr. Musenge says Sable will also work on Findeco road and Katopola-Chizongwe road.

He says the three roads will be upgraded to bituminous standard.

Mr. Musenge says government has promised to be paying Sable the remaining balance every after two weeks so that the road works are completed on time.

He assured the people in Chipata that the roads will be of good quality with a thick asphalt layer and drainage systems.
