Government threatens to terminate contract for a clinic project in Petauke

Government has threatened to terminate a contract for Horizon Contractors who have been hired to build Matonje Clinic in Kapoche Constituency in Petauke district.
Local Government Deputy Minister, Nicholas Banda has warned that the contract will be terminated if the contractor does not move on site to continue the works.
Mr. Banda who is also Kapoche Member of Parliament has expressed disappointment that the contractor has not even taken materials to the site.
And Mr. Banda says that it is sad that the contractor has not engaged the local people to do casual works.
And one of the builders for Horizon Contractors, Jabesi Nkhoma attributed the delay to transport building materials to the site to breaking down of the vehicle.
Mr. Nkhoma assured the deputy minister that works will be finished before the onset of the runs as the foundation of the clinic, four toilets and one staff house have been done.
