Government has pledged to continue developing Zambia regardless of region, colour or political affiliation.
Eastern Province Permanent Secretary Chanda Kasolo says government will endeavor to take development to all parts of Zambia so that lives of people in the rural areas are improved.
Mr. Kasolo also cautioned newly elected members of parliament and other officials not to just celebrate but reflect on what was not done so that they can improve people’s lives.
Breeze FM staffer, Peter Frank Banda, reports that Mr. Kasolo was speaking when he officiated at this year’s Malaila ceremony of the Kunda people in Mambwe district yesterday.
Mr. Kasolo urged all Zambians to embrace the One Zambia, One Nation motto so that peace can be maintained.
He called on chiefs to encourage peace with other tribes and continue preserving tradition and culture in the country.
The permanent secretary stated that government will always look up to the chiefs for advice.
He promised Senior Chief Nsefu that his palace will be constructed and the road to his palace worked on.
