Government to distribute relief maize in Chipata urban

Government is for the first time distributing relief maize to people within Chipata urban.
District Commissioner, Kalunga Zulu confirmed to Breeze News that some people in Old Jim, Jere Compound, Referendum and Gash will be given relief maize.
Mr. Zulu says that farmers within the catchments of Chipata Town were in the past considered as people who can manage to feed themselves for the whole year but the situation is different this year because they were also affected with last year’s erratic rainfall.
He reiterated that government is distributing over 3,000 bags of relief maize to Dilika, Kapata, Kanjala and Msanga wards.
