Government has described the progress of works on township roads in Sinda district as unimpressive.
District Administrative Officer, Condrington Sakala, says that the pace at which the works are being done is very slow.
The works are being carried out by Build Trust Company.
Mr. Sakala says the works are going on at a very slow pace, despite receiving some upfront payment.
He explained that at present, it is not even possible for authorities to check the quality of work done so far.
Mr. Sakala mentioned Nyanje Compound, Chasa and Kambauwa, as some of the roads that are supposed to be worked on.
Build Trust Company was contracted to upgrade 15 kilometres of township roads to bituminous standard.
