Government wants David Kaunda Stadium to be upgraded to international standards

Government says it is seeking a PPP, Public Private Partnership in improving David Kaunda Stadium to international standards.
Youth and Sports Minister, Vincent Mwale says that this is being done through ZDA, the Zambia Development Agency.
Speaking to Breeze News, Mr. Mwale says that government is committed to ensuring that David Kaunda Stadium meets international standards.
He says that government is against the idea of carrying out simple rehabilitation works to the stadium, whose facilities have run down.
Mr. Mwale was responding to a question on when government will release money for completion of construction of a wall fence, whose works have stalled for a long time.
A Public Private Partnership is a contractual arrangement whereby the private sector performs government functions of service delivery or infrastructure development or uses state property, and assumes associated risks for the property.
