President Michael Chilufya Sata has expressed concern with the high number of road traffic accidents happening on the Highway and other road links in the country.
In his latest update on Facebook, the head of state says that there is need for an urgent pragmatic and integrated approach to lessen the road carnage.
Mr. Sata says that in an effort to curb the high number of road accidents, government has embarked on an infrastructure development program under the link Zambia 8000.
He has however, urged RTSA, the Road Transport and Safety Agency, the Zambia police and other agencies to intensify education campaigns and other interventions to reduce accidents on the roads.
He adds that government commits its best to the families who have lost their loved ones in the road accidents and will do its best to arrest the situation.
