Hiking of fuel prices has caused erratic supply of the commodity in Chipata district.

Erratic supply of fuel has hit Chipata district with some filling stations running out of the commodity.
The shortage of diesel, petrol and paraffin has been attributed to hiking of fuel prices by government on Tuesday this week.
One of the filling station proprietors says that ever since government had announced that they would be increasing fuel prices, the demand for the commodity went high.
He explained that this caused the filling station to run out of fuel before the stipulated time, when other fuel orders are delivered.
A check by Breeze News, found that panic had risen amongst motorists as long queues of cars had developed at some of the filling stations last evening.
And Mr. Daya from one of the filling stations indicated that the service station was only selling fuel to account holders.
