Houses that have been built on institutional land in Lundazi district face being demolished.
Department of Physical Planning and Housing Provincial Planner, Collins Mwaba has confirmed the development to Breeze News.
Mr. Mwaba says that the houses will be demolished following a court ruling, which went in favour of government to go ahead and demolish the houses.
He says that the structures will be demolished immediately after the Department of Physical Planning and Housing receives funding.
The affected residents had rushed to the court to prevent the Eastern Province Planning Authority from demolishing the houses, which were built on institutional land.
However some affected residents say that the matter has not finally been resolved as a tribunal was set up to look into the matter.
Last year the Eastern Province Planning Authority demolished about four houses, which were constructed on the Lundazi river banks.
