Hunger is looming in Manyinda area of Chief Msoro in Mambwe district, after hundreds of fields where destroyed on Tuesday this week.
Bernard Tembo and Alfred Banda told Breeze News that this happened following heavy windy rains around 14hours on Tuesday.
And Kasamanda Ward councillor Phaile Mbewe who also confirmed the incidence, said that some maize, sunflower and cotton fields were destroyed.
Mr. Mbewe explained that the maize has been destroyed at a wrong time as it is not fully ready.
The councillor said that the house belonging to headman Manyinda was also blow, leaving a number of properties destroyed.
