Japan Tobacco International JTI has donated 40 mobile labs to 17 schools in Chipata, worth 235,000 Kwacha.
Presenting the donation JTI Chipata District Manager, Hezekiel Mtonga advised the recipients of the mobile labs to look after the equipment properly.
Mr. Mtonga indicated that JTI is happy with the way it is working with farmers and that this was the reason why it was making such a donation to schools.
He however, stated that JTI did not favour the idea of having children who are supposed to be in school being found in tobacco fields.
And speaking during the same occasion, Chipata District Commissioner, Kalunga Zulu thanked JTI for the donation.
