Katete street light project to be completed this week

Works on the over two Million Kwacha street lighting project in Katete district is expected to be completed this week.

Katete district commissioner, Joseph Duma Makukula, says that following discussions with Zesco and other stakeholders, the street lights are expected to start working in the course of the week.

He explained that most works have already been completed, saying the switching on of street lights will not just add beauty to the district, but also improve security at night.

And in a related development, Mr. Makukula says there is an improvement with the road works being carried out by Nakangea Construction Company.

He says Show grounds, Catholic Church and Katete Agriculture College, are the three major roads remaining under the project.

Mr. Makukula says that the company is expected to work even faster now that rainfall activities have reduced.
