Lack of entrepreneurship skills is limiting women contribution to economic development

Lack of entrepreneurship skills is limiting the contribution of women to national economic development.
Assistant Director for Planning at the Department of Gender and Women Development, Nicholas Banda, says that women need skills on how to conduct business if they are to fully contribute to the wellbeing of their families, communities and the nation.
Mr. Banda said this after paying a courtesy call to the provincial administration ahead of the provincial expo which will take place in Chipata.
Fifty women drawn from all districts in the province will undergo one week training in various entrepreneurial skills, after which the best 10 will be selected to attend the national expo which will be held in September in Lusaka.
Mr. Banda explained that if women are given enough business skills, they are able to be economically independent, thereby reducing their dependency on men.
