Lions have reportedly terrorized villages in Chief Mnkhanya’s area killing animals especially cattle.
John Soka Nkhata of Kawalika village says that so far, 20 cattle have been killed by the lions in the past three weeks.
He appealed to the Department of National Parks and Wildlife to quickly send officers to the area to assess the situation.
And Area Warden for the Department of National Parks and Wildlife, Mumba Katele, says that his office has not yet received reports on the matter.
Mr. Katele explained that it is important for people affected by wild animals to be reporting to the department quickly so that officers can be dispatched to check the situation.
