Local authority wants improvement in the way Constituency Development Fund projects are being handled.

Chipata Municipal Council says there is need to change the way Constituency Development Fund Projects are being handled.
This came to light during DDCC, the District Development Coordinating Committee Meeting held in Chipata.
The technical committee drafting the proposed report on the 2012 CDF says that there is need to involve relevant authorities in monitoring projects that concern construction of police and health posts.
The committee also suggested that the committee should be involved in the initial scrutiny of applications adding that constant supervision of all approved projects should be done to avoid misappropriation of building materials.
The technical committee being led by Chipata Town Clerk, Ekan Chingangu added that they will ensure that all projects approved have bill of quantities.
The technical committee says that doing this will also assist to promote transparency in the handling of projects under CDF.
