Losing Patriotic Front candidate Lameck Mangani has accepted defeat.

Losing PF, Patriotic Front candidate in the Chipata Central parliamentary by-election, Lameck Mangani has accepted defeat.
Mr. Mangani says that he accepts the decision of voters and has congratulated newly elect Member of Parliament Ruben Mtolo Phiri for winning the election.
Speaking during Political Hour programme on Breeze FM, Mr. Mangani suspected that his poor relationship with former President, Rupiah Banda could have led to him losing votes.
Mr. Mangani also suspected that some of the PF members could have worked against him because they associated with MMD.
Meanwhile, MMD have expressed gratitude to the people of Chipata Central Constituency for voting for their candidate.
Speaking during a live radio programme this morning, Kasenengwa MP, Victoria Kalima, Chipangali MP, Vincent Mwale and Sinda MP, Levy Ngoma conveyed thanks to all those who voted for Mr Phiri.
The trio say that MMD’s victory is a clear indication that the people are not happy with the current leadership of the PF, Patriotic Front.
