A man in his early thirties has drowned in Lunkhwakwa stream along Kafula road in Chipata.
Deputy Provincial Police Commissioner, Patrick Billy confirmed the death of Petros Phiri of Nabvutika Compound to Breeze News.
Mr. Billy says that police received a report from Emma Phiri of DK area that her brother in-law, who was last seen last evening around 19 hours, was found dead in the stream.
He says that police visited the scene around 08 hours Thursday morning and found the body lying in the almost dry stream, facing down with a 2 litre empty container in the hand.
Mr. Billy says that police have instituted investigations into the matter to ascertain the motive behind his death.
Phiri’s body is currently in the Chipata General Hospital Mortuary awaiting post-mortem and burial.
